Nocturnal Notions

Written for:  Poetic Asides 2019 PAD November Chapbook Challenge – Day 27
“For today’s prompt, write a remix poem. To do this, pick one (or more) of your poems from earlier this month, and remix it. Bend free verse into a poetic form (here’s a list of 100 poetic forms). Or turn a poetic form into free verse. Or write a response poem.”

Daylight is anxiously
bright, as if productivity
is imperative.

About the gloaming
is a peaceful
aura of violet.

Lamplights on low
produce color patterns,
and dim painted walls.

Cozy cuddles on couch with
dogs on either side of me
is bliss. Nightmares are far off.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
