Written for: Poetic Asides 2019 PAD November Chapbook Challenge – Day 28
Write a gratitude poem.
‘Tis so lovely to have
beautiful soup, so rich,
and green, waiting in
a tureen with a loaf
of bread spread thickly
with butter.
Not everyone is so
fortunate. You hear
that cry for single sip,
a single sip of water.
The hole waits for
tomorrow’s deceased.
Here in Oz, though,
I am enchanted with
“The Horse of a Different
Color, the green of
Emerald City. Why, I
must be over the rainbow.
I believe love is the strongest
force in this world. Being
in love can make the connections
between all life apparent.
