One afternoon in November
when clouds reigned over
sun, middle divider on
highway was slammed by
a villainous drunk
driver. Shame of it was
the chain reaction
that ensued. Three
people in one car
on their way to a photo
shoot, are in serious
condition. Friends
and family hope they
will rally. Woman
in another car will
now have to resign
herself to the death
of her husband of
fifty years. Unable
to disguise her anguish,
she screams, tears streaming
down her face. The inebriated
man was arrested, at which
time they found this shady
character had a previous
record for speeding, driving
drunk, license suspended.

On an afternoon in November,
lives were forever changed.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
