Something for Everyone

Written for:  Poetic Bloomings2 – InForm Poet – Loop Poetry

“There are no restrictions on the number of stanzas in Loop Poetry, nor on the syllable count per line.

In each stanza, the last word of the first line becomes the first word of line two. The last word of line 2 becomes the first word of line 3. The last word of line 3 becomes the first word of line 4, etc.

Rhyme scheme: abcb.”

Amusement parks are fun for games–
games of chance, shooting water balloons.
Balloons are twisted into animals for children.

Children want to go on every ride.
Rides are not my thing. Never,
never could comprehend the thrill of fright.
Fright belongs in movies and books. I prefer carousel.

Carousels are painted bright colors, and cheerful music plays,
plays as you sit on horses, riding.
Riding painted horses and holding on.
On a sunny Spring day, pick a horse, go ’round and ’round.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
