Oh dear, I fear we can
do nothing for her. She
was rescued from that ladder
by a fireman on the ground.
Why she climbed that ladder
is a matter for the police.
She is young, high-strung.
The raven has dropped
the key. She hovers between
this world and the next. We
are merely one-inch tall; she
is a giant after all. No
moving her one way or another.
She will soon be smothered
in other-worldliness. Some
are saying she is Wonder Woman.
She seems to have lost her
wonder and her way.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Though this is sad I love that you wrote it from the view point of the small figures. Always great to read your words Sara!

This gave me shivers–the girl as fallen demi-god was unexpected and awesome!

Losing her wonder is even worse than losing her way. My earlier comment seems to have disappeared..might be in your spam folder.

Sara, I think she is Superwoman and that she needs to meet Gulliver. He might even be able to rejuvenate the lady.
I enjoyed reading, I believe your muse takes cues from your imagination. Mine does also.
