“away and away”

Written for:  The Twiglets #163 – “away and away”

If there’s a will,
there’s a way
to get away.

away on an island,
water sea-foam green
only sounds are native birds.
Ah, but ’tis only a dream.

away in the clouds
puffy pillows of smoothness
all cares vanish

A woman in Las Vegas, Nevada
at one slot machine, said, I gotta
hit a big jackpot
if I sit in one spot
Nature called, machine paid all, she was left with nada.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Fun reads… as for the Limerick – isn’t that what adult diapers are for 😉
