Hare To A Fortune

“Hello word artists and admirers! Today is the first of the month. According to an old wives’ tale, now is the perfect time to improve your luck for the next thirty days. Just be sure that “rabbit, rabbit” is the first thing you say when waking up on the first of the month. Did you already blow your shot by mumbling to your coffee maker or teapot first? No worries, there’s always next month!”

Rabbit, rabbit
I’m following you.
If its luck you bring
I’m just about due.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

  1. You are not alone in your chant to that lucky rabbit. I so hope it has lots and lots of luck to share with us. For I, too, am about due.

P.S. This Writers’ Pantry was hosted by Rommy. 🙂
