There once was a bear named Herman
who stole food until he was turned in.
I am sorry, he said
while hanging his head,
I’m a large-boned bear; my belly burns with yearnin’.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy.
