“All The Small Things” (posted by Rommy)
“There are occasions when we naturally seem to notice the small things more. The tiny blessings we are grateful for, the little things whose absence hits us harder than we expected…they can loom large when everything else in our world is changing rapidly.
“Create a poem/prose that incorporates the idea of “small things”.
Under the couch
is a veritable treasure
trove of lost–or purposely
hidden–objects. I reach
underneath to retrieve
a paper clip. My hand
comes out clutching a pen,
plastic cap, earring
hook, and a vitamin pill.
I can make no sense
of some of these items,
but a certain dog sheepishly
looks the other way.
Ahem….the dog in the family gets the blame for everything:)Dollar bills under the cushions and in pockets are always welcome too.
