Words: battle, spread, moon, orange, curve, carve, sad, home, free, lives, lies, states
As an opulent orange sun
sets, a lemon-drop moon
spreads light across
the sky. Inside the curve,
face of moon looks sad,
battle weary. Though he
calls the sky home, he concerns
himself with lives we are living,
our state of mind, and wishes
he could free us all of illness,
and liars who fashion their
own truth.

Lovely poem and stunning imagery.

I love the contrast between the “opulent orange sun” and the “lemon-drop moon.”
