Near Future

Written for:  Poetic Asides April 2020 Challenge – Day 8
Write a future poem.

I am not looking far ahead,
just to a time without masks and gloves,
to sleep peacefully in my bed

Trees, plants, and flowers are in bloom
gift of mother nature with love.
Will summer be normal, brides in June?

Now and in future times I wish
you safety, health and serenity of
mind and heart, a new life of bliss.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
