Written for: Poetic Asides April 2020 PAD Challenge – Day 20
Write an isolation poem.
A quiet corner to write in
one hand cups chin
Smooth jazz plays softly in background
snoring dog sound
Home phone unplugged due to spam calls
need to recall
Then, virus sweeps our world, and all
walks, gyms, events are put on hold
Masked, gloved, you step outdoors, so bold.
One hand cups chin, snoring dog sound, need to recall
2020 April PAD Challenge: Day 20

About purplepeninportland
I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York.
My goal is to create and share poetry with others
who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve
in you, and feel your sparks as well.
It’s funny how the little things become the big things…
