“get messy”

Written for:  The Twiglets #180 – “get messy”

Fun of finger painting is that you were encouraged
to get messy.

so many ways
to get messy.
I would not like
to be a mud wrestler.

flowers of plant
droop in a mess of petals
waiting to quench their thirst

A child by the name of Tessie
had a room that was oh so messy
Clothes lay on the floor
when mom comes to door,
and said, clean this, I can’t find the puppy.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
