“so you say”

Written for:  The Twiglets #181 – “so you say”

So you say
you are
a former Miss America?
I’m not buyin’ it.

So you say you love me
and it will never happen again–

time speeds up with age
you blink your eyes-now you’re old
or so they say

She said, I want to be a princess
when I grow up, and wear sparkly dresses.
So she acted the part
Friends thought her bizarre
but Prince Charming fell for her long tresses.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Excellent references to ‘so you say’
Like Jane Goodall – I you want something go after it 100%.
Jane had fallen in love with apes around 10 by reading Tarzan and wanted to go to Africa – Dreams can come true.
