Diary of a Non-picky Eater

Written for:  Poetic Bloomings2 – July Covid-19 PAD – Day 2
“Eat At Joe’s” – What is your favorite cuisine?

As far as cuisines go
I seem to love them all,
from favorite Italiano
to curry’s pungent call.

Barbecued pulled pork,
collards, biscuits–Southern style.
Thai food–can’t put down my fork,
Greek salads, sushi both beguile.

Szechuan spicy as it can be,
pitas dipped in hummus.
On rye, some hot pastrami.
French onion soup, cheese a plus.

Each restaurant is unique
from furnishings to paintings
Cozy place is what I seek
with soft candle lighting.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

  1. SO hungry now! Wonderful poem! Just wonderful. Full-on experiential.

New art movement? Experientialism. It’s like Expressionism, except with the valor of time and circumstance of life fully present as its voice.

    This poem did that.
