Written for: the Twiglets #185 – “a bookish day”
A lazy rain
silvered slowly
to the ground.
It was a bookish day.
Little girl looked
forward to Read-Aloud
Day with her favorite
teacher. She loved
bookish days.
displaces fearful thoughts
a family saga book
with happy ending
Considered by all to be bookish
especially by jocks who were cliquish.
They called him a weakling,
having no inkling
he could belt out songs in Spanish and English.

About purplepeninportland
I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York.
My goal is to create and share poetry with others
who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve
in you, and feel your sparks as well.
Ah yes, a family saga with a happy ending. Lovely stuff!

We need more happy endings that is for sure.
I was never in a clique, I’d like to be bi-lingual.
I was looking into another language… but I haven’t devoted the energy to it since the I can’t see the gal who was going to help me.
It would be so nice if folks would be less judgmental an used some courtesy and common sense.
