“a hairy lip”

Written for:  The Twiglets #186 – “a hairy lip”

A man can stand up well
to a hairy lip. A woman
has to wax.

She does not like
peaches because
the fuzz touches
her lips.

he kisses her
tries to touch her lips lightly
wire hairs poke cheek

An old woman hailing from Derry
went to visit new grandchild by ferry.
When the boat docked
her grandson was shocked.
He said, Grandma there’s hair on your lip.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

I’ve some relatives somewhere… yep women with hairy upper lips.
Fun reads! True some face hairs are not soft!
Some have just single long hairs on a chin… clipping seems useless – plucking seems to slow regrowth…

That must mean that I’m a proper granny! LOL!
