Everything Is Beachy
“Here’s a batch of “Beachy Things”. Incorporate as many of them into you poem!”
SAND, GULLS, WIND, WAVES, SWIMMERS, SUN, LOTION, PAIL AND SHOVEL
BEACH BALLS, BLANKET, GOGGLES, TIDE, HORIZON, UMBRELLA
Come out from under
your umbrella. Leave
the security of your
blanket, and walk
that sun-warmed sand
down to ocean’s edge.
Watch a ledge of waves
roll in, hear cries
of gulls, feel the wind
sticky on your lotioned
arms. Swimmers call
to each other. Beach
balls are tossed back
and forth. Your horizon
is a perfect blue.
Love the glass ceiling of the superficial protection of the umbrella evaporating through joy and experience in Nature as limits powerfully cascade out to expand to the horizon and beyond. What a wonderfully painted experience. I saw all those things and more.
