Musical Styles

To what kind of music do you choose to listen?

rock, some punk–
Ramones, Patti Smith
Doesn’t it depend on your mood?
Relax with smooth jazz and a glass of wine–red or white
Blues confirm your state of mind, help you wallow. Classic rock feels young and
you know the words.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

  1. I call that “Sunday Afternoon Sonos on Shuffle.” Excellent poem. Love the versing of word and another word and another and a couple of ‘em to let it start to reel out and build up into the last line.

  2. Music and mood are kissing cousins, methinks.
