"Today’s challenge is what we at dVerse call Prosery. If you’re new,
or if you have not come across this challenge before, let me
explain. I will give you a line from a poem, and then you incorporate it into a short prose piece. This can be either flash
fiction, nonfiction, or creative nonfiction, but it must be prose! And it must be no longer than 144 words, not including the title."
“when it is over said and done
it was a time
and there was never enough of it.”
–Allison Adelle Hedge Coke, “A Time”
I do not even recall his face. Places we lived are blurs
of color, tight spaces, and blue loneliness. Now, fifty-one
years later, I feel as if everything from that time
happened to someone else–another me.
I tell people that my favorite, most adventurous years
happened in my 40's. Still looked good, started writing
again, gained confidence. When all it is over said and done
it was a time . . . and there was never enough of it.

Oh yes… we all have those things that we should have done and never did.

This is a good use of the lines. There is a time to move on, but it doesn’t have to mean forgetting about the past or pretending it didn’t hold any value at the time.

There never is enough time, all we can do is make good use of them-and it sounds like you have.😀
