Days of Dark Times

Written for: Poetic Asides PAD November 2020 Challenge - Day 10

"Today is another two-for-Tuesday prompt day. You can pick one prompt, pick both prompts, or even write one poem that attempts to do them both.

 For today’s prompt:
 - Write an easy poem, and/or…

 - Write a difficult poem."

Days of dark times,
Infinitely worse due to
Face Masks not being worn,
Friends and family having large gatherings.
Isolation is taking a toll on seniors,
Children, and those who have
Underlying conditions. Stores are closing–
Lack of customers. All of this contributes
To this heavily depressive state. We wait.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
