Written for: Poetic Asides PAD November 2020 Challenge - Day 12

"For today’s prompt, write a number in the title poem. And yes, it's as simple as it sounds. Include a number in the title of your poem. The actual title could just be a number without any other explanation, or it could be something like "5 Little Pumpkins" or "39 Lines" (sestina, anyone?). You can even pull a "14U" type of title."

Two pieces of rich chocolate cake
in one sitting–that's what I ate
producing a slight stomach ache.
At four I wake, At four I wake.

At six o'clock in the morning
one dog goes out. I am yawning.
By eight o'clock, it is storming.
Dogs bark warning, Dogs bark warning.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
