Nature’s Gifts

Written for: Poetics Aside PAD November 2020 Challenge - Day 13

"For today’s prompt, write a luck poem. Good luck, bad luck, a mixed bag. You decide and then write it."

Lucky penny, heads up
reflected in the sun.
I stoop down.
Will I have good fortune?

reflected in the sun
a rainbow in a puddle.
Will I have good fortune?
Walk down to the lake,

a rainbow in a puddle.
I see two black swans.
Walk down to the lake.
They swim in sync.

I see two black swans.
I stoop down,
they swim in sync.
Lucky penny, heads up.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
