Facets of Intimacy

Written for: One Woman's Quest

"This week, I want to talk about intimacy. For many years, I limited thoughts of intimacy to sexuality, however; age and challenges have altered that perception."

According to Webster's Dictionary:

closely acquainted; familiar, close: intimate friends | they are on intimate terms.
 • (of a place or setting) having or creating an informal friendly atmosphere: an intimate little Italian restaurant.

Have you been intimate?
Oh yes, we are close friends.
We share our lives. We vent.
Are you intimate with yourself?
Yes, when I face truths about me.
What about sexual intimacy?
Ah, Level Ten!

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
