Written for: Poetic Asides PAD November 2020 Challenge - Day 23

"For today’s prompt, write an explanation poem. Not sure if any explanation is needed, but your poem can explain whatever it must explain even if it does a bad job of explaining, as if that kind of explanation makes any sense. I don't need your explanations, just your poems!"

I'm puzzled. Why can't you see
you broke us apart, not me.
Months pass. You ask to be friends.
When love ends, we become free.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
