Abide by My Side

The Dude Abides (posted by MSJadeli)

Today’s challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to write a quadrille poem. If you’re new to dVerse or the quadrille, it’s simply a poem of 44 words (excluding the title.) You MUST use the word “abide” in your poem.

Abide by my side,
 become my bride.
 Let's put aside our pride,
 we have nothing to hide.
 My heart is open wide
 to hold your love inside.
 When our children arrive
we will see that they thrive.
Together we’ll go for Sunday drives.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Very pleasant dream, Sara. She sees it laid out there before as a glorious vista…
