Written for: Poetic Bloomings2 - Prompt #316 Holiday Characters "This time of year, the television programming is inundated with holiday specials featuring animated characters like Buddy the Elf, Frosty the Snowman, Nestor the Christmas Donkey, etc. Imagine a character for such a feature. Give it a kooky name and write it into your poem. Have some fun with it and see where your fancy flies us!" Gerard Giraffe watched chimney flues Checking drafts so Santa's ride would be smooth. Gerard was tall and long of neck unlike small elves, he could reach and inspect. One Christmas Eve Santa's sleigh broke down Children who believed would wake with a frown. Gerard tied the presents 'round his neck and he pulled Santa, all bedecked with ribbons and bows. Gerard was swift, and delivered on time, all the gifts. Gerard and Santa, a strange team were cheered by kids whose faces beamed. https://poeticbloomings2.wordpress.com/
