About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

  1. Jim says:

Now why was I laughing, even before I read your last line?
Guess it was the picture, folk messing with the box’s top.
And it looks as if the worst abuser was it’s own blonde haired kid.

  2. Very cleverly and accurately said!

  3. Contagious smiles, indeed. It made me feel nostalgic, this lovely piece. I hope we can soon infect each other with mirth again.

  4. Laughter, like any emotional response, can so be contagious. Really good one
