Prompt #321 - Looking for Direction

"Direction is direction. I’m talking compass direction. Choose one and use that as your inspiration for this week’s poem. It could be a direction away from someplace or toward somewhere. It could be something incorporated into a song or book or movie title. Wherever you want to be, there you go!"

Let us grow upward and tall,
leave the smallness of mind behind.
Let us grow our hearts to fit all,
let us grow upward and tall.
Dry those tears; heed laughter's call.
Into the future, a steep climb.
Let us grow upward and tall,
leave the smallness of mind behind.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
