Write a haibun that references the Eagle.


Over there!  As a king on his throne, a bald eagle
perches.  A park of varied paths with neighboring
creek.  We walk the dogs, admire teal-headed ducks
swimming past lily pads, and kids trying their luck
with fishing poles.

Suddenly everyone looks up yelling, and pointing
to the top of a gleaming steel pole.  As if a UFO is
hovering, we all crane our necks at once
to watch this majestic bird.

         sunshine ripples creek
         in Summer.  Ducks swim and squawk
         water shades wings
