“strong arm water”

Written for: The Twiglets #216 "strong arm water"

Jack and Jill lacked
the strength to carry
a pail of water
without spilling it.

a strong arm
of water
formed a tidal pool
around the rock's

dips arms in water
cool to the touch. She decides
to oar across the lake

There once was a man with amazing strength,
on challenges, he would go any length.
On a dare he did swim
             in under tow, was pinned
by a shark where his strength was one-tenth.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Fun reads. Water is certainly a force to be reckoned with.
I was visiting Lake Michigan, but didn’t go in – I prefer warm ocean 😉
Another time at Lake Michigan there was a ‘red tide’ warning!

Ah. The second one is very close to what my twiggish brain was thinking.
