“all that waste”

Written for: The Twiglets #217 - "all that waste"

All that you consider waste
could feed a starving family
of eight.

The Mob boss said,
'waste 'em.' All that
work for the cleanup guy.

she cried beside
the poor dying whale, choking
all those plastic bags

A man who squandered his fortune
on gold fixtures and art at auctions
               was dissed by a woman
                whose occupation
was to run a non-profit commission

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

I continue to save all sorts of things for my DIL for her school. There used to be a sort of recycle center for crafty things. I only remember reading a few years back that they didn’t need any more contributions. And I’m thinking now they might not even be open.

    Fun reads all around. 😀
