Eight-by-Ten photo
of Mom and Dad, his
cigar clenched between 
fingers.  World War
Two.

In cleaning out Mom's
apartment, I discover
a love letter from
Dad.  So sweet.

Old albums, every
picture labeled
and dated by Dad. 
Mine are loose in 
boxes, some in
albums.  None labeled.

My sister keeps Mom's
hand-written recipe 
for brisket.  How come
ours never comes out
the same?
