“hope rides the air”

Written for: The Twiglets #226 - "hope rides the air"

The time of despair has lifted
as new hope rides the air.

A glimmer of hope
sails through the air.

baby robins wait
cozy but hungry in nest
watch mom carry food

There once was a woman named Hope
Most people thought she was a mope
            She always looked down
            viewing only the ground
When found she could write, her gaze strays to light

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Hope is that everyone can get needs met. Just met with some folks that are helping an elder neighbor stay in his home. He was basically told that the visiting service his has is only allowed to used his stove. More than once he left a pot on the burner!! If he wants to stay in his home he has to abide by some of the rule of the local Office of aging.

Fun verses. Hoping for the best for all!
