I lean against
these tenement bars,
cold steel, like
this city. While holding
my face up to the sun, I
close my eyes, and dream
of an island life, friends
gathered around me, teal
pools, green seas,
and pink sand castles
that never crumble.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York.
My goal is to create and share poetry with others
who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve
in you, and feel your sparks as well.
Love the way the colors are part of the island and the idea of the permanent sand castle.

I once read a book entitled “Image Your Way To Success”. Maybe you can image yourself to a lush, green island!
