Teen vs. Parents

Do not make it
your mission
to spend all your
time at the beach,
dear. I understand
how drawn you are
to oceans, but air
is still, sun is
murder. Why that
tight clenched jaw
whenever I make
a suggestion? Dad
is checking to see
if there is space
on the boat for
us to take a dinner
cruise. We want
you to join us. Well,
that was a speedy no.
Don't think you
can use a painful
sunburn as a weapon
to get out of our
plans for tonight.
This place was
a lucky find.

I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
