Cloudy With Sun Spots

Written for: November 2021 PAD - Day 19

"Write a future poem."

Future is hard to see clearly.
Present life changes every day,
a formless lump of modeling clay.
Current mood can make future drear.

Some hope to see a new frontier
in which they'll have a part to play.
Future is hard to see clearly.
Present life changes every day.

Ofttimes I face future with fear
'though I don't dwell on yesterday.
Friends are scattered. Hoping one day
to see them, those I love dearly.
Future is hard to see clearly.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Beautifully written! Future is uncertain and present changes everyday.
