Thirty to Fifty

"Our lives seem to go by in phases. We can almost divide these lives into chapters like in a book. Think of your lives in three separate chapters. Title these chapters. Then choose one of these as the inspiration for your poem. Write your chapter in verse!"


Life took on a vibrancy.
My working atmosphere and friends
provided a lofty peak for me.

My marriage was new and happy.
Beginnings seemed to have no ends.
Life took on a vibrancy.

Countless concerts I did see.
Beach vacations, and long weekends
provided a lofty peak for me.

Music was lapped up like honey
with rock, blues, and jazz my blends.
Life continued in vibrancy.

Ever in good company
filled with laughter, and new strengths.
Life hummed with a vibrancy,
providing a lofty peak for me.
