See Me

Written for: The Sunday Muse #200

"I am going to feature 10 of some of the top viewed images of the last 4 years. You can choose the one you feel speaks to you, but when you write your post, I want you to do one more thing. This time say a little something about yourself. Celebrations and parties are a great place to get to know each other and have great conversation."

I am treading
water, but
for how long?
We are Mother
Nature's children,
and you are not
letting her care
for us properly.
I see it as
a sign of
disrespect
for others.

(Obviously I am an animal lover. I have two
rescue dogs that are aging along with me.
Favorite color? Oh come now!)

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Your poem really speaks to me. I am an animal lover above all else and i love your words about respect – lacking on so many levels.

It feels like there’s very little respect to go around, lately. The reminder that it could be different is a welcome warning.

You’re right, Sara, not respecting our mother (earth) ripples out negative vibrations to all of life.

    So true.
It’s like many people don’t see the connection between all that is on this planet.
