Setting The Record Straight

Written for: Sunday Whirl, Wordle #542

Words: threshold, vinyl, shell, no, hidden, spin, fiddle,
        turtle, amidst, neck, design, noise

As a turtle, I am seen
by some spinners of
tales, as never
sticking my neck out,
staying hidden under
my shell. Well no,
that is simply
not true. I was
designed this way,
just as vinyl was
for records . . .
once. Amidst a
fine fiddle of
fish folk, I am
content to exist
without a great
deal of noise. If
you find yourself
on the threshold
of my home, do not
think I am being
aloof, should my
face be tucked away.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
