They Do Not Respond

Written for: Friday Writings #17: Heroes

"The floor is open for you to share your pieces. For those of you who wish to work from a prompt, I propose writing about heroes, however you choose to define the term."

I am so filled with anger for one man, and sorrow for a country, and
its people. They are all heroes.

Psychopaths have no empathy;
they do not respond to reason.
As leaders their rule is deadly.
Psychopaths have no empathy.
Soldiers, lay down arms, let peace in.
Psychopaths have no empathy;
they do not respond to reason.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
