Accomplishments of Spring

Written for: dVerse Poets Pub - Quadrille #149, 'Tis the Season

"Pen a poem including some form of the word, 'season'".

Almost post-pandemic,
the season of Spring
dares to peep out
of hiding, painting
flowers, trees,
and shrubs, attempting
to woo us out of
the doldrums. They
shake us awake;
they open our eyes
to a possible beauty
amidst these
darkened days
of war.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Excellent quadrille Sara. I found your perspective on the word season to be most effective. I hope you are right.

As Rob said, I hope you are right about the waning days of a difficult two years … In Oregon the numbers are rising.
