Scattered

Friends retired are now scattered
to warmer climates.  Some are near
family, a comfort with age.
We can communicate
without touch.  My heart
thrums with yearning
to embrace
them; catch
up.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy.
