“across the sky”

Written for: The Twiglets - across the sky

No sight can be seen
across the sky.
It is obliterated
by a war of darkness.

I search
for a patch
of blue hope
in the sky.

she looks up at sky
tries to pinpoint where it is
runaway kite

Peter Pan could fly across the sky
listening to Tinker Bell's sigh.
When children were taught
Tink was overwrought.
Her jealousy caught Peter's reproachful eye.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

I just saw on the ‘computer news’ a couple in the Big U… There was a photo of them getting married amid the rubble.

…in the end the children’s clapping saved Tink. 😀
The world must do more than clap…
