A Sparrow’s Woes

You know, this is
the only way I can
check out my grooming.
I need to be sure
my eyes are not
red and tired-looking,
and that my beak
is clean. Now, how
would you suggest I
do that with this
filthy, rain-splattered
mirror. It is dangerous
for you, and insulting
to me.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Birdy has a point! Clean that mirror! maybe she could use her beak to scratch “Wash me” on the glass. This was fun!

Grooming while upside down……that bird and I tend to do things the hard way. LOL.

Made me smile. I can see that dialogue tweeting out from a peeved sparrow’s beak. Also, I can relate–I am always having to clean the mirror, tho my grooming is far from this meticulous. 😉

Oh, a dirty mirror, it always leaves one questioning if their reflection is true. Love this!

    I like the viewpoint….
I found far too many dirty mirrors, and yet formed an opinion about me. Not good.
