“we’re cloudless

Written for: The Twiglets - we're cloudless

A cloudless sky
is unappreciated
on a steamy afternoon.

Parched and praying
for rain, people
focused on the
endless blue sky.

sunflowers basked
faces upturned to sun
on this cloudless day

I thought you said it was sunny,
we're you trying to be funny?
I stepped out in a burst
of hard rain and I cursed
at my lack of umbrella–poor me.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

😀 Sometimes the weather is so fickle you think you can be prepared but then you are not.
The storm has to stop somewhere… sometimes we can see rain out one window and not the other!
