Changing Skylines

"Write a poem using the words, "New York", "skyline", and
"compelling".

Violet skyline
of the desert
has a unique
beauty, one
that is new
to her New York
eyes. Northeast
stirrings in
her heart,
compelling as
they will always
be, she adapts
to the desert–
her new home. If
you are open
to beauty, it will
find you anywhere.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

The hope for a fine future shines through in this one, Sara! Yes, beauty is able to find us anywhere we are. And vice versa.
