Candy Recall

Licorice, sweet and sticky
black or chocolate, not picky.
Coconut in Mounds or fresh–
Dad opened them, ate the flesh.
Bit-O-Honey went a long way
caused much tooth decay.
In Pacific Northwest
Mrs. See’s was best.

Yet I still love candy corn.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

We all have our favourites. It was fun to read about yours. I may have to find out what this Bit O Honey is all about next time I’m on the other side of the border.
