If you get a new puppy
you will find it's nothing
like having a guppy 
for a pet.

Puppies have to learn
all those lessons
a toddler turns
into a tantrum.

Mistakes will be made,
each item appears as a toy
even if it's suede
like a shoe.

But, loyalty wins out,
affection and love
on which you can count
unconditionally.
