If . . .

Written for: Poetic Asides 2023 April PAD Challenge - Day 27

"Write an anapodoton poem." (unfinished phrase where a person
can fill in the blanks. - e.g. If life gives you lemons . . .)

If at first you don't succeed,
find another hobby to pursue.

If pigs could fly
why not I?

When in Rome
it is complicated to use the phone.

If look could kill
I'd use my drill.

If the mountain won't come to Muhammad
you'd best make do with salad.

All good things
are like hot flings.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
